Music for Trains is made possible through the combined efforts of the Producing Partners – a collaboration between the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center, the Brattleboro Music Center, the Rockingham Arts and Museum Project and Vermont Performance Lab. Each of the Producing Partners regularly produces and presents public exhibitions, performances, and/or artist residencies and shares a commitment to bringing high quality and venturesome arts experiences to as broad an audience as possible.
The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) brings compelling exhibits by regional and nationally acclaimed artists to a rural region. BMAC is located in an historic landmark, a former railroad station in downtown Brattleboro, Vermont. The BMAC’s mission is to present art and ideas in ways that inspire, educate, and engage people of all ages. The Museum has both a regional and national reputation for producing innovative exhibitions and educational programs for its community.
Brattleboro Music Center (BMC) offers educational, participatory and concert programs serving approximately 3,000 people each year. For many years the BMC produced and toured the acclaimed New England Bach Festival under the direction of founder Blanche Honnegger Moyse (until her retirement in 2004). The BMC’s Chamber Series presents some of our era’s most acclaimed musicians, many of whom have long-time connections with Brattleboro and the BMC.
The Rockingham Arts and Museum Project (RAMP) www.ramp-vt.org, is involved in integrating artists and the arts in the revitalization of Bellows Falls (pop 3600) an underserved rural community in southeastern Vermont with an industrial history. RAMP has developed affordable live/work space for artists recognizing and valuing the significant and positive role that artists play in creating and sustaining communities culturally and economically. Based on this fact that artists and the arts play an important role in economic and community development RAMP has formed partnerships with a broad range of other organizations, locally, regionally, statewide and nationally to carry out programs and events that engaged all ages in the arts.
Vermont Performance Lab(VPL) is dedicated to supporting the work of contemporary choreographers and musicians through its innovative Lab Program. By pooling resources with local partners, the Vermont Performance Lab presents contemporary artists in Southern Vermont, supports the creation and development of new work and creates opportunities for artists to engage with communities through social gatherings, hands-on workshops, artists talks and work-in-progress showings.
